Elmhurst Choral Union is a professional-quality choir of volunteer singers who donate their time to prepare inspiring and moving music for Chicago area audiences. From our concert programs and posters to ticket sales to our annual fundraising event, all the preparation is done by volunteers. We have no paid office staff.
Your donation pays for our professional orchestra and soloists, our director, and rehearsal accompanist. Every penny shows up on the stage in a high-quality performance that showcases the choir.
Elmhurst College founded Elmhurst Choral Union in 1952. The college has continued its support by providing rehearsal and performance space. A significant portion of ECU's funding comes from the college music department, and we thank Elmhurst College for its long standing support.
Elmhurst Choral Union programs are partially funded by a grant from the Illinois Arts Council, a state agency. Additional funding is provided by the City of Elmhurst Community Grant Program.
Elmhurst Choral Union also receives assistance in the form of time and energy from many wonderful individuals. We would like to thank college president Dr. S. Alan Ray and numerous staff members for their help and support.
Thanks also to our Board of Directors, who have put in countless hours to improve our finances, promote concerts and manage logistical details.
